DALY CITY, Calif. -- Three hundred friends, admirers and family members
gathered March 11 and 12 to pay their last respects to John Tsu of
Millbrae. They flew in from across the country to honor the Asian Pacific
American political leader.
An embroidered seal of the President's Commission on Asian Pacific Islander
Affairs was attached to the lid of Tsu's coffin. A folded American flag was
placed in his hands. A half dozen speakers offered words of praise, and a
letter from President Bush was read.
Tsu passed away Feb. 26 at Seton Medical Center from heart failure. The
80-year-old professor may have been small in stature, but he was a giant to
many APAs in the world ...
