THE parents of two conjoined twins born in the National Maternity Hospital
in Holies Street in Dublin on Monday have asked the public to pray for
their babies after doctors ruled out separating the two.

The infants, who were delivered on Monday morning by Caesarean section,
remain in a critical condition in Our Lady's Hospital for Sick Children in
Crumlin.

Surgeons and doctors gathered yesterday to undertake tests and scans to see
if the twins shared vital organs. But after hours of consideration, the
medics decided that they could not operate on the two babies.
