When Dorian Christian Baucom as Marc Antony, sees the mangled body of his
hero and friend, Julius Caesar, lying in a pool of blood on the floor of
the senate, his words are but a gasp, "Oh, mighty Caesar, doest thy lie so
low?"
It is the moment in "Julius Caesar" that Shakespeare's drama about a brutal
assassination moves beyond mere history into the realm of tragedy.
It is the moment when for the first time in this fast moving play that one
of these great Romans speaks with deep emotion about someone other than
