New South Wales withstood sustained early pressure from Queensland to take an 18-0 halftime lead and went on to win the annual State of Origin Australian rugby league series with a 32-10 victory in the third and deciding match Wednesday.
Melbourne Storm winger Matt King, playing in his first Origin series, led the winners with three tries.
New South Wales, which lost the first Origin match in Brisbane but won the second at its home ground in Sydney, had to repel a series of Queensland offensive threats in the opening eight minutes.
