Fed: Hay fever sufferers should avoid echinacea: immunologist
An immunologist has warned that hay fever sufferers who take herbal medicines like
echinacea without medical advice are playing Russian roulette with their health.
SHERYL VAN NUNEN, who heads the allergy department at Sydney's Royal North Shore Hospital,
says echinacea can cause life-threatening reactions in some people.
She says there have been a number of severe reactions to echinacea in people who are
allergic to pollen.
