Qld: Beattie turns legal tables on federal government on IR

BRISBANE, July 18 AAP - Queensland will turn the legal pressure onto the federal government
when it introduces legislation into parliament aimed at enshrining workers' minimum rights.
Queensland Industrial Relations Minister Tom Barton said today the laws would be introduced
during the next sitting of state parliament, from August 9 to 11.
Once passed, it would be up to the federal government to mount a legal challenge to
remove the state's laws through the High Court and the state government had a good chance
of winning, he said.
