It was a noon game in mid-July at Hadlock Field.
That meant bus loads of kids from area camps and recreation programs piled into the stadium on a hot Wednesday afternoon. They mobbed vendors selling Sea Dogs biscuits and allowed counselors to smear them with sunscreen.
They cheered for the Sea Dogs, stomping their feet when Portland rallied.
And then they groaned.
After rallying to tie the game, the Sea Dogs let it slip away, losing ...
