Jazz guitarist goes crazy for the gambus

The man who has been such a familiar figure with his guitar in the jazz
scene has his passion set on the gambus. ADLIN ROSLI finds out the reason
for the new love.
LOCAL jazz guitarists don't come any more qualified than Farid Ali, who
has played in numerous major jazz events and has shown his prowess on the
guitar.
So it comes as a surprise that these days Farid has become a champion
for another stringed instrument, the gambus.
Don't feel bad if you're not familiar with this guitar-like traditional
Malay instrument for it has been out of style for ages now.
