Los Angeles High School baseball coach Jose Mendez is a die-hard New York
Yankee fan, but you wouldn't know it if you visited him on campus.

Everything about the Romans baseball team resembles the home team Dodgers
from the uniforms to the clubhouse that has even major league scouts
envious.

Mendez has been at L.A. High for 25 years, but nothing he has done during
that time came close to what he experienced as coach this year.

The Romans qualified for the Los Angeles City Section playoffs. The team
