Fed: Immigration Department morale low: Minister

MELBOURNE, July 28 AAP - Immigration Minister Amanda Vanstone has admitted morale in
her department is down following the scathing Palmer inquiry.
She said today that any department facing criticism or controversy would naturally
suffer falling morale to some degree because friends or family, either in a jocular or
concerning way tend to say "oh gee, what about the place you work."
Senator Vanstone thanked staff in the Immigration Department and GSL, which runs the
detention centres, for their "good work" at the opening of a new $700,000 visitor reception
facility at the Maribyrnong ...
