NEW YORK (June 9, 2005) -- Caribbean Week danced to a successful end on
Friday night, with participants moving to the pulsating rhythms of Byron
Lee and the Dragonaires at the Waldorf-Astoria.
It was an action-packed week of activities, which included an interfaith
celebration, a Caribbean fair, town-hall meetings, a media marketplace, an
airline marketing conference, and unless I forget, Jamaica Night at the
Apollo in Harlem, where hundreds of Jamaicans, West Indians and Americans
gathered for an unforgettable experience of island culture, which included
performances by the sensational theatrical group ASHE, Freddie McGregor and
reggae Grammy ...
