Baltimore Orioles slugger Rafael Palmeiro will serve out a 10-day suspension after testing positive for steroids beginning today. Palmeiro is the highest-profile player to be caught so far under major-league baseball's new testing rules and the most ironic. He testified about steroid use in front of Congress earlier this year. He opened with the declaration, quote, "I have never used steroids, period. I don't know how to say it any more clearly than that, never."
