In one of its first moves as bowling's new governing body, the U.S. Bowling Congress has voted to increase the hardness limit of the cover stock of a bowling ball.
Bowling ball manufacturers have 90 days to review and comment on the test procedures. If there are no problems the revised hardness standard will go into effect any time after Jan. 1.
The intent of the change is to limit the traction a bowling ball can achieve and to protect the lane surface. One result could be lowering the high scores so ...
