(The Daily Universe) (U-WIRE) PROVO, Utah -- The mosquito-borne West Nile virus has returned to Utah County, the Utah Department of Health announced Wednesday.
Of about 178 tubes of mosquitoes caught around the state and sent to state labs as part of a weekly testing program, four from Utah County tested positive for the virus, said Lance Madigan of the Utah County Health Department.
"We're not talking a huge, massive outbreak - the percentage is actually rather low," Madigan said. However, he added, "We do expect it to spread around the county. We've just been waiting for it. We knew in Utah that it would just be a matter of time."
