Ruth Dewson has sold hats to the likes of actors Samuel L. Jackson, and
Danny Glover, rapper Wyclef Jean, and former SF Mayor Willie Brown, who is
one of her most frequent customers at Mrs. Dewson's Hats located in San
Francisco's Filmore district.

But for every famous head she's covered, Dewson has also come to the aide
of a community cause. She sends ten to fifteen local schoolgirls to college
with scholarships each year, donates time and money to the local school
providing uniforms and equipment for sports teams that didn't exist before.
