Fed: Sydney loss enduring mystery of WWII

CANBERRA, Aug 14 AAP - By rights, HMAS Sydney should have been able to sit back a couple
of miles and blast the World War II German mercantile raider Kormoran into a smoking wreck.
With her powerful six-inch guns, The Australian cruiser could outrange and outgun Kormoran
without even running the risk of having her paint scorched by return fire.
It should have been a very uneven fight. It wasn't.
In one of the enduring mysteries of World War II, Sydney sank with all 645 hands after
