NSW: Cockatoo island gets new lease on life

SYDNEY, Aug 18 AAP - Sydney Harbour's largest island is coming out of retirement to
become an active workplace once again.

Cockatoo Island, once a convict prison, a reformatory girls school and more recently
shipping dockyards, has been unemployed for more than a decade.

But the Sydney Harbour Federation Trust today called for expressions of interest in
leasing buildings and facilities on the island.
