Maine's summer music festival season is winding down, with two biggies still on the docket: the American Folk Festival on the Bangor Waterfront, which opens Friday, and the Thomas Point Beach Bluegrass Festival over Labor Day weekend in Brunswick.
The bluegrass festival has a great history, with a long tradition of excellence. The folk festival is fairly new and still finding its way.
But calling the American Folk Festival new is a bit misleading.
