Friday, August 19, 2005 -- Bank Hapoalim's second-quarter net profit climbed 12.6 percent, driven up by a 30% fall in provisions for doubtful debt and a rise in operating and other income.

The bank said on Thursday that in the three months ending June 30, net earnings rose to NIS 601 million from NIS 534m. in the same period a year earlier, while operating and other income rose to NIS 1.12 billion from NIS 1.04b.
