Danish toy maker Lego Group said Wednesday it will close a production facility in Switzerland and five Western European distribution centers, and move those operations to the Czech Republic.
Lego said a total of 540 workers would be affected by the restructuring. The company would not give details about how many jobs would be cut or how many workers might be reassigned. The Swiss factory employs 239 people.
"High costs in Switzerland have been a key factor in deciding to transfer production to eastern Europe," said Senior Vice President Lars Altemark.
