Fed: Drought unlikely to ease hay fever suffering: expert

BRISBANE, Sept 6 AAP - Hay fever sufferers thinking the drought will allow them to
breathe easier this spring should think again.

Immunologist Connie Katelaris says early pollen counts by Sydney's Westmead Institute
for Immunology and Allergy Research suggest the coming season will be a bad one.

"Because it's a drought year, the message I'm getting from my patients is they're all
expecting it to be a pretty mild season but it's certainly not shaping up that way," Dr
Katelaris said.
