Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. once said, "That the ultimate measure of a man
is not where he stands in moments of comfort and convenience, but where he
stands in time of challenge and controversy." One has to admit that our
mayor has stood strong during these recent weeks of challenges and
controversy. I support the mayor not because it is popular and not because
it is comfortable. I support the mayor because it is principled.

I, along with the Fannie Lou Hamer Political Action Committee, have
supported Kwame Kilpatrick since 1996. This was even prior to him becoming
mayor of the City of Detroit. This is not a blind support, it is an
objective support. ...
