India shares the U.S. desire to keep Iran from producing nuclear weapons, India's prime minister said Friday.

The United States is pushing world powers, including India, China and Russia, to help pressure Iran into freezing its nuclear weapons program, and to refer Iran to the Security Council, the United Nations' top decision-making body. That referral would carry an implicit threat of sanctions.
