As the New York Yankees and the Boston Red Sox prepare for their season-ending series from Friday through Sunday in Boston, which will decide the American League East, fans of each team can take comfort in history. Yankees fans should know that their team has always beaten the Red Sox on Oct. 2 when first place is at stake in the final game.
