SA: Treat road toll as seriously as terrorism, conference told

ADELAIDE, Sept 30 AAP - The road toll should be treated as seriously as terrorism,
an international conference on automotive technology has been told.

About 2,000 people worldwide were killed every year through terrorism but 3,300 people
were killed every day on the world's roads, Intelligent Transport Systems Australia executive
director Brent Stafford told the Adelaide conference, Smart Demo 2005.

On average, five people were killed every day on Australian roads, he said.
