Albanian parliament had rejected an application to sell the state phone company Albtelecom Sh.A. to a Turkish consortium for euro120 million (US$144 million).
Sixty-eight lawmakers voted against the deal, while only 30 supported it, Prime Minister Sali Berisha government claimed there were irregularities in the sale of 76 percent of Albtelecom to the Turkish Calik Enerji Telekomunikasyon A.S. consortium by the former Socialist government.
A committee will appoint international experts to review the bid process and the valuation of the company.
