Queen Latifah, Jill Scott and Erykah Badu brought the sounds of sweet soul
to Columbus when the Sugar Water Festival played the Germain Amphitheater
on July 30.
The women blended their voices to open the show with The Jones Girls'
"Nights Over Egypt." Before each headliner performed their individual sets,
British neo-soul/hip-hop act Floetry warmed up the crowd.
Latifah was the first to take the stage, looking svelte in a cream-colored
halter top, jeans and tennis shoes. The Queen showcased her vocal skills on
jazzy songs from her critically acclaimed "Dana Owens Album" as well as rap
