Statement of Marc Morial President and CEO, National Urban League Committee
on House Judiciary Subcommittee on Constitution October 18, 2005 I appreciate
having the opportunity to share with you my thoughts on the 1965 Voting
Rights Act and the enormously positive impact it has had our nation. I
am very gratified to know of your strong support for reauthorization of
the Voting Rights Act and appreciate your leadership on this important
issue of our time. The importance and necessity of the Voting Rights Act
