WA: WA legal advice also shows laws may be unconstitutional

PERTH, Oct 25 AAP - Legal advice provided to the West Australian government supports
Queensland Premier Peter Beattie's warning that new terror laws may be unconstitutional,
a spokesman for WA Premier Geoff Gallop said today.

Mr Beattie received advice from his solicitor-general saying preventative detention
and control orders in the proposed legislation raised constitutional problems.
