Vic: Halloran to return to work with Victoria Police, chief says
MELBOURNE, Oct 27 AAP - Former top Victorian homicide squad detective Peter Halloran
will return to the state's police force after being cleared of child sex charges in west
Africa.
Mr Halloran, 57, was acquitted earlier this month on appeal against a child sex charge
in Sierra Leone, where he was on leave without pay from the Victoria Police investigating
war crimes for the United Nations.
He returned to Australia last week, saying he intended to go back to work with the
Victoria Police despite criticism senior command had failed to support him in his legal
battle.
