Carrefour to Expand Investment in Western China

XI'AN, Nov 04, 2005 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- Carrefour is to expand investment in western China and set up bases in the region, said G. L. Shereau, president of Carrefour China.

Since entering the Chinese market in 1995, the retailing giant has created 65 outlets in 26 cities across the country. Furthermore, 20 of these stores are situated in the costal area, such as Shanghai, Jiangsu and Guangdong.

Furthermore, the company plans to found 10 to 12 outlets in the mainland every year and one third of them will be located in central and western parts of the country.
