Today, the US Supreme Court hears arguments in a major case involving questions of life and death, federal vs. state power. At issue is the Bush administration's challenge to the Oregon Death With Dignity Act. It's the only state law in the country that authorizes doctor-assisted suicides for terminally ill patients.
