Le Monde, the daily newspaper of reference in France, on Monday introduced an airy look for its pages with fewer articles, a larger typeface and more photographs. Le Monde is the latest European newspaper to seek a makeover, following the redesign of its rival Le Figaro, which last summer eclipsed it in circulation. On Monday, Le Monde fought back with a new style created by the Scottish designers Ally Palmer and Terry Watson.
