Bath, School Union 47 build merger momentum ; Optimism grows that they will be able to consolidate governing units, pleasing parents in outlying towns.
School officials from Bath and School Union 47 agreed Tuesday to push forward with their effort to find a way to consolidate their governing systems. Tuesday's brainstorming session in Bath followed an August meeting where both sides expressed concern about losing $1 million in state special-education aid if the systems were consolidated.
