SA: Guantanamo Bay detainees get excellent treatment: Rumsfeld

ADELAIDE, Nov 18 AAP - Australian terror suspect David Hicks is receiving excellent
treatment at Guantanamo Bay, US Defence Secretary Donald Rumsfeld says.
Mr Rumsfeld, who is in Australia for talks with the government, today dismissed allegations
of mistreatment of prisoners at the US naval base in Cuba, saying they were part of the
modus operandi of terrorists.
Hicks, 30, has been held at Guantanamo Bay since his capture with Taliban fighters
in Afghanistan in late 2001 after the September 11 attacks in the United States.
