SHARON (THROUGH TRANSLATOR): Good evening.
This morning I met with the president of the state and asked for
his approval to dissolve the Knesset and to head for new elections as quickly
as possible.
Subsequently, together with my colleagues, who displayed a great
deal of courage and national responsibility, I began setting up a new liberal
movement in Israel.
After much vacillation, I decided to leave the Likud today.
Likud in its current format is unable to lead Israel ...
