Article: 10,000 Conceptual Art Fortunes to be Distributed by Minnesota Chinese Restaurants

During this year's Chinese Mid-Autumn Festival six Chinese restaurants in
Minnesota will participate in a work of public art. 10,000 fortune cookies
with fortunes written by conceptual artist Marcus Young will be distributed
to unsuspecting customers at the end of meals and with carry out orders to
provide a moment of puzzlement. The work titled "Break" will take place
September 15-18 at restaurants in Minneapolis, St. Paul, Woodbury, Falcon
Heights, and Walker, Minnesota.

"Break" capitalizes on a moment of intimate reading in the ritual breaking
of a fortune cookie. It replaces the cliches usually found in fortune
