All 29 police officers taken hostage by rebels during a weekend attack on a village in Colombia's western jungles were found safe Tuesday, the National Police said.
The officers were found in two groups, walking in rural areas of the jungle near where the attack took place Saturday in San Marino, 275 kilometers (170 miles) west of Bogota, said Sgt. Alberto Cantillo, spokesman for the National Police.
"There were 29 detained when the day began. Seven appeared early this morning, and a while later the rest of the police officers appeared," he said.
