The Muslim Association of Britain has renewed its calls for the release of Briton Norman Kember who was taken hostage in Iraq.

The group made its televised appeal late Saturday on the Arabic television station al-Jazeera in Qatar. It followed similar pleas from Kember's family who has placed a series of newspaper advertisements in Iraq.

The 74-year-old peace activist, along with Canadians James Loney, 41, and Harmeet Singh Sooden, 32, and Tom Fox, 54, of Clear Brook, Virginia, were abducted in Baghdad on Nov. 26.

The Swords of Righteousness Brigade, which has claimed responsibility for the kidnappings, threatened to kill the group by December 10 ...
