ROME: The Christmas tree has won another victory. Italy must now be added to the list of countries, once all but limited to Germany, where the gaily decorated evergreen is the heart of Christmas fun. More than 1,000,000 trees will be sold this year in Italy, according to Dr. Angiolo del Lungo, a farm and forestry editor who probably knows more about the Christmas tree in Italy than any other person because he has so long led the fight against it.
