ST.PETERSBURG, RUSSIA, Jan 02, 2006 (A&G News via COMTEX) -- GLONASS is a Russian analog of GPS, an American satellite navigation system. GPS, being primarily a military invention, now is used actively by everyone -from pilots of the American Air Forces to car enthusiasts. In order that GLONASS signal could spot position data with the same precision and openness to general use as the American system it is necessary to increase its satellite group to the minimum necessary level.
