Krispy Kreme Doughnuts said Thursday that it had terminated the franchise licenses of Great Circle Family Foods, its largest franchisee. Great Circle has been in default of its franchise agreements because of nonpayment of royalty and brand fund fees, Krispy Kreme, based in North Carolina, said. Great Circle operates 28 Krispy Kreme outlets in Southern California. Great Circle sued Krispy Kreme in September in Los Angeles, claiming that the chain was trying to force it into bankruptcy with unreasonable charges for supplies.
