Steady growth in Western outsourcing helped India's second largest software exporter, Infosys Technologies Ltd., increase its net profit by 28 percent in the October-December quarter, the company said Wednesday.

The company said it had attracted 36 new clients in the company's fiscal third quarter and net profit increased to US$143 million (euro118.25 million) from the US$112 million it reported in the same quarter a year ago.
