The Oakland-based Huey P. Newton Foundation is marketing a new line of hot
sauce called "Burn Baby Burn: A Taste of the 60s Revoluntionary Hot Sauce."
The plan is to raise funds as the organization celebrates the 40th
anniversary of the founding of the Black Panther Party, which was formed by
the late Newton and Bobby Scale, who now lives in Oakland after relocating
from Philadelphia.
"The hot sauce is another way to raise money and bring attention to the
foundation," said David Hilliard, executive director of the foundation and
a former Chief of Staff with the Black Panther Party which began in Oakland
in 1966 when Newton and Seale were students at Merritt College.
