UPSTATE New York never looked as beautiful as it did on Monday when
reporter Georgina Brennan and I drove to Columbia County Memorial Hospital
in Hudson.
The autumn leaves had begun to turn russet brown and the green and rolling
hills reminded me so much of Ireland that I had to stop myself believing I
was driving through the countryside there.
We were going to Hudson, about three hours from New York, close to the
Irish Catskills to interview Christine Owad, the paralegal who is at the
center of charges that she misled young Irish undocumented that she could
obtain green cards or U.S. work authorization for them.
