Article: Beth Israel continues land search for new center

This may be a busy year for Beth Israel-The West Temple.

The 160-family West Side synagogue, which sits on a small plot of land on
Triskett Road, is searching for a bigger plot to build a new "Center for
Jewish Life," designed to serve the growing Jewish community west of the
Cuyahoga River.

The Reform shul is looking for six to ten acres either in North Olmstead,
North Ridgeville, Avon, Avon Lake, or Westlake, says Robyn Roche,
co-president of Beth Israel?s board of trustees. Forest City Enterprises
co-chair Albert B. Ratner is helping Beth Israel find someone to donate the
land.

The synagogue will have to raise between $4 and $5 million to build its
