(Daily Californian) (U-WIRE) BERKELEY, Calif. -- Despite being one of the most highly anticipated movies of the year, "Brokeback Mountain" has had a hard time disassociating itself from an oft-repeated "South Park" quote: "Independent films are those black-and-white hippie movies -- they're always about gay cowboys eating pudding."
The film is in color, the cowboys are sheepherders and there's no pudding in sight, but "the gay cowboy movie" is a moniker director Ang Lee has been forced to deal with from the start.
"The best way to respond to that (is to) invite them to see the movie," said Lee at a recent press conference including The Daily ...
