Alibaba.com Paid CNY254.8mn Taxes in 2005

HANGZHOU, Jan 19, 2006 (SinoCast via COMTEX) -- China's Alibaba.com paid CNY 254.8 million taxes in 2005, in other words, the company paid over CNY 1 million taxes per day, according to Hangzhou Hi-tech Industry Development Zone where the company is headquartered.

Making the most conservative calculation with provided data and the taxes, the e-commerce company brought in about CNY 1.2 billion operating revenues in 2004, and the revenues reached more than CNY 2 billion last year.

Alibaba.com is running the global largest B2B platform, but it never disclosed related financial data because it is a private company.
