Major investment groups in Singapore and the United Arab Emirates on Friday bought a combined stake of almost 12 percent in Bumrungrad Hospital PCL, which operates Southeast Asia's largest private hospital and is a leader in "medical tourism" in Thailand.
The hospital announced in a news release that Temasek Holdings (Private) Ltd of Singapore through two indirect wholly-owned subsidiaries, and Istithmar PJSC of the United Arab Emirates each purchased 5.94 percent of Bumrungrad Hospital's shares from Sinsuptawee Asset Management Ltd, a wholly-owned unit of Bangkok Bank PCL, Thailand's largest commercial bank.
