Four Indian Americans won major prizes, including the $50,000 second prizes
for individuals and teams, in this year's Siemens Westinghouse Competition
in Math, Science and Technology, the premier competition for high school
students in the United States.
Kiran Pendri of Wallingford, Connecticut won the second prize in the
individual category; Abhinav Khanna of Plainview New York shared a second
prize with schoolmate Benjamin Pollack.
Desh Mohan of Denton Texas took home the fourth prize of $30,000 in the
individual category while Amardeep Grewal of Beverly Hills, Michigan shared
the $20,000 fifth prize with team-mate Ran Li of Valley Stream, New York.
